9th Ward, New Orleans, LA

The large national chains like Lowes, Home Depot, Wal-Mart and some of the chain restrauants are up and running and doing a booming business. Their parking lots are full. It looks like Christmas shopping except that all of the vehicles are pickup trucks buying building materials.

The local "mom and pop" business don't seem to be doing as well. Many of them are still in need of much help.
